Dr. Belcher’s research builds the science to define and support equitable patient adherence to oral anticancer medications. Her team’s research generates knowledge to inform clinical practice and policy and to develop novel interventions that can be integrated into clinical care to improve medication adherence, reduce disparities, and enhance quality of life for patients with cancer and other chronic diseases. Our long-term goal is to develop targeted, culturally sensitive interventions to improve treatment adherence and health outcomes, particularly among groups most at risk for disparate cancer outcomes.
